Wednesday, January 30, 2008   Night Bazaar

Last night some of us went to a night bazaar. There were hundreds and hundreds of street vendors selling everything imaginable. I got a Thailand patch to add to my backpack. The patch was 30 Baht. The cab ride to and from the market, which is on the opposite side of town from our hotel, was 20 Baht. The current exchange rate is about 35 baht to 1 USD.

Peace. in Christ.

Sunday, January 27, 2008   Time Change

The time here in Chiang Mai is exactly 12 hours ahead of the US Eastern Time zone, meaning that you need only to change the AM/PM to calculate the time here. There are benefits to being on the exact opposite side of the world.

Peace. in Christ.

  Last Night

Last Night we went to a nearby restaurant for a group dinner. The meal consisted of choosing a variety of meats and veggies that were placed in a boiling pot of water at each table. We each took turns ordering the ingredients which ranged from chicken, to pig heart. Afterwards a few of us got some Roti on the way back. Roti is a tortilla shaped, flat, yolkey, pastry, what includes banana, chocolate, or other sweet ingredients. It is fried and cut into small squares. It is similar to a French Crepe. it was good.

Peace, in Christ.

  Current Prayer Requests

For those who would like to pray for the trip here are some of the current prayer requests:

-Communication- there would seem to be a demon affecting the communications of the group, this ranges from two people speaking to each other and the message being miscommunicated to e-mail and other communications home. This may be rooted in one of the False Idols that the Thai pray to, a spirit of communication. Thai has also historically been a city of division which may stem from miscommunication. Please pray for the groups communications and to bind any opposing demonic influence or other force.

-Visas- for the China trip in February, of which I am a member, we must obtain visas from the Chinese government within the next five days due to an upcoming Chinese holiday. Please pray that there would not be complications in obtaining the require paper work.

-Health- the general health and well being of the group. I've got a little sniffle.

Peace. in Christ.
